From a leaflet by Chris DeRose, founder and President of Last Chance for Animals:

[...] Your local Neiman Marcus store is part of a chain that is a primary retailer of fur products. Because I'm concerned about the cruelty inherent to fur, I encourage you to shop at other stores until Neiman Marcus stops contributing to the senseless cruelty of fur animals. We've made courteous contact with the Board of Directors of Neiman Marcus Group, and no one responded. In media comments about the abusive fur industry, Neiman Marcus has stated it has no interest in ceasing the sale of luxury fur items. The store chain states that their customers truly want to buy the skinned animals in their fur departments. To think that in this day and age, a major corporation still sells primitive fur products as "luxury" is an insult to us as an animal protection group. It's also an insult to YOU if you're part of the 74% of the public that opposes the senseless use of fur for sheer luxury. Please join our protest of Neiman Marcus fur sales. By shopping elsewhere, you will help show that one of the nation's most respected retailers has no business contributing to animal cruelty, and they'll get no business for it.

To live without killing is a thought which could electrify the world, if men were only capable of staying awake long enough to let the idea soak in.
